Election 2023: Village Races Take Shape In Arlington Heights
The consolidated municipal elections are set for April 4 with races for village and school boards, among others, on the ballot.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — With Election Day less than 10 weeks away, voters are beginning to figure out who they might vote for. The consolidated municipal elections are set for April 4, with early voting getting underway in Cook County March 20.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS VILLAGE BOARD
Four candidates will be on the ballot for four trustee spots in an uncontested race, according to Becky Hume, Arlington Heights village clerk. Trustees with expiring terms are Mary Beth Canty, Robin LaBedz, John Scaletta and Thomas Schwingbeck, Jr. LaBedz and Schwingbeck are running for reelection in April. They will be joined on the ballot by Wendy Dunnington and Scott Shirley, according to Hume.
Canty, who was recently sworn in to represent Illinois House District 54 in Springfield, is not seeking reelection. Neither is Scaletta, who had been on the board since 2007. He announced last October he wanted "to focus on and spend more time with my family."

Martin Bauer was removed from the ballot earlier this month. An electoral board concluded he did not have enough valid signatures to earn ballot placement reports Journal & Topics.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS MEMORIAL LIBRARY BOARD
Three candidates will be on the ballot for three seats on the Arlington Heights Memorial Library Board, according to Hume. Treasurer John Supplitt is not seeking reelection for a six-year seat.

Current members Jennifer Borrell and Amy Somary will be joined by Stacey A. Kelly on the ballot for the uncontested race.
