The Palatine High School senior, who was nominated by her mother, is a member of the track and field team.
PALATINE, IL — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
She was a leader in the induction of the school's Wellness Committee. She spoke to the school board, her principal and various teachers within her school to remove certain assignments off the curriculum that were proving detrimental to herself and her classmates. She attended Wellness Forums and helped create Wellness Week to advocate for mental health and awareness. She spoke to anyone who would listen about body image among high school students.
