Gas Leak Shuts Down Elk Grove Village Roads For 3 Hours: Police
Motorists were being asked to use alternate routes Wednesday morning as crews worked to mitigate the leak.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A gas leak shut down portions of several roads in the village for nearly three hours Wednesday. According to Elk Grove Village police, the roads reopened at around 11:55 a.m.
Police sent out a social media alert at 8:45 a.m. saying Landmeier Road was closed between Nichols Boulevard and Higgins Road. At the times, crews were on scene working to mitigate the leak.
Motorists were advised to use Touhy Avenue or Higgins Road as an alternative and avoid the area.
