Gas Main Leak Shutting Down Roads In Mount Prospect: Village
Officials are asking residents to avoid the area Thursday afternoon, with Nicor Gas currently on the scene.
MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A gas main leak has shut down Central Avenue in both directions Thursday afternoon. The Village of Mount Prospect is asking motorists to avoid the area near Central Avenue and Northwest Highway.
According to a social media alert sent at around 12:30 p.m., Nicor Gas is currently on the scene, and it is anticipated Central will be closed for several hours. Meanwhile, Northwest Highway is down to a single lane.
