Gas Prices In Arlington Heights, State Continue Falling: AAA

The average price of gas in Illinois is currently $4.33, while the national average is the lowest it has been since March.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — For the first time since early March, the national average price of gas is below $4 per gallon, according to AAA. The average price in Illinois is currently at $4.33, down from $4.52 one week ago and $5.14 in July.

Since last Thursday, the drop in the state is 19 cents, which is the third-largest decrease in the country behind Colorado and Arizona, both down 21 cents over the seven days.

"Oil is the primary ingredient in gasoline, so less expensive oil is helpful in taming pump prices," said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, in a news release. "Couple that with fewer drivers fueling up, and you have a recipe for gas prices to keep easing."
