Metra Train Strikes Car On Tracks Near Palatine: Police
Police said several roads are closed to through traffic during rush hour Wednesday due to an investigation.

PALATINE, IL — A Metra train struck a vehicle Wednesday afternoon, causing train delays and closing several roads in Palatine during rush hour. Metra sent out a social media alert regarding the incident at around 2:39 p.m.
The agency said the duration of the delay is unknown.
Palatine police said that in addition to northbound Plum Grove Road, northbound Brockway Street from Palatine Road will also be closed to through traffic while the Metra Police Department conducts the accident investigation.

"The closures are expected to remain in place throughout the Wednesday rush hour," Palatine police said. "Please use alternative routes and expect delays. Drive safely and stay alert for updates."
