Chicago was considered the pinball capitol of the world for over 70 years, before losing its last manufacturer of the Silverball over 20 years ago, officials said in the news release.

"But instead of it being 'game over,' new entries into the marketplace opened their doors," the news release said. "The result is that the majority of machines built today come from factories based outside the city borders."
