Semi-Truck Rollover Crash Blocks Route 53 Near Arlington Heights: IDOT
The Illinois Department of Transportation said all lanes are blocked Thursday afternoon for several hours to clear a live power line.
UPDATE (1:30 p.m. May 12): All lanes of Illinois 53 have reopened at Rand Road.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — All lanes of Illinois 53 near Arlington Heights are blocked in both directions as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday following a semi-truck rollover crash and so that a live power line on the ground can be moved, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The IDOT said in a social media post all lanes of southbound Illinois 53 are blocked at Rand Road (US 12) due to the semi-truck rollover crash. Illinois State Police District 2 (Elgin) said the closure is expected to be in effect for several hours.
