Traffic Crash Shuts Down Road In Arlington Heights: Police

Motorists are being encouraged to use an alternate route until further notice, Saturday night.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An ongoing investigation into a traffic crash has shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road Saturday night at Northwest Highway.

In a traffic notice sent out on social media at 7:22 p.m., police said they are encouraging motorists to use an alternate route until further notice.

Additionally, Metra said inbound and outbound train movement of the Pacific Northwest line is halted near Arlington Heights due to a vehicle struck by a Metra train. Extensive delays are anticipated. It is not clear if the two traffic issues are connected.
