Tree Lighting Ceremony Returns to Arlington Heights This Friday
The annual Tree Lighting ceremony will be held at North School Park this Friday, Nov. 25.

From the Village of Arlingto Heights: Celebrate with the community at the annual Tree Lighting ceremony held at North School Park on Friday, November 25 at 4:30 p.m. Bring families, friends, neighbors and holiday guests to this festive celebration, located at Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street. This year, the Special Events Commission is sponsoring free Holiday Trolley rides that will pick-up and drop-off riders at North School Park, the Arlington Heights Historical Museum and Harmony Park.
The traditional ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. with dance performances from the Arlington Heights Park District's Vibe dance companies, followed by a performance of the Dickens Carolers from John Hersey High School. If you arrive early, the Park District's baton group will begin dazzling the crowd with their twirling moves starting at 4:15 p.m. After brief comments, the countdown will begin around 5 p.m. to “flip the switch” that magically activates the lights of the holiday tree in North School Park along with the many displays and lights throughout the Downtown.
This event is sponsored by the Arlington Heights Special Events Commission in conjunction with the Arlington Heights Park District as a way to kick off the holiday season. Be sure to take the Holly Trolley from 4 - 8 p.m. to visit the lights, restaurants and shops in the Downtown area! The trolley is complete with decorations and holiday music!

Also be sure to take the Holly Trolley to the Festival of Wreaths at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 110 W. Fremont from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. to enjoy a showcase of homemade wreaths from the community and businesses to be bid on. The goal of this event is to promote community engagement and awareness of the Arlington Heights Historical Society and Museum, and to raise funds for the Historical Society. The wreaths will include a variety of themes from holiday-themed wreaths to sports-themed wreaths.
