Walker, Gillespie To Host Senior Fraud Prevention Seminar

To ensure local seniors have the knowledge they need to avoid common scams, financial fraud and abuse, state Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, and state Sen. Ann Gillespie, D-Arlington Heights, are co-hosting a Senior Fraud Prevention Seminar with the Office of Attorney General Kwame Raoul.

“It can often seem like there are more and more schemes to take advantage of seniors every day,” Walker and Gillespie said. “We’re partnering with the Attorney General’s Office on this informative seminar to ensure seniors in our districts have the tips and knowledge they need to protect themselves and their hard-earned savings.”

The seminar will take place at the Mount Prospect Public Library on Thursday, June 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Financial experts from the Attorney General’s office will begin the event with a presentation on ways to avoid scams and how new financial rules and regulations aiding seniors. A question and answer segment will follow the presentation.
