Aurora Considers 3 Cities In Mexico For Sister City Partnership
The city launched its Sister Cities Partnership to "strengthen international relationships and foster meaningful connections."
AURORA, IL — Aurora is considering becoming a Sister City with one of three cities in Mexico, officials announced.
The city launched its Sister Cities Partnership to "strengthen international relationships and foster meaningful connections with international cities," officials said in a Facebook post on Christmas.
Officials said they're exploring Sister City partnerships with San Juan del Río in Querétaro, León in Guanajuato, or Valle de Bravo in the State of Mexico. The municipalities are "ready to collaborate with [Aurora]," according to the post.

In light of the collaboration on the horizon, officials are turning to residents for their input in a new survey. The survey highlights information about each city before posing various questions about residents' connections to Mexica and their Sister City preferences.
"Your input is essential to ensure these partnerships reflect the unique ties and interests of Aurora’s diverse population," officials said. "Take the survey today to help us select the best city to build lasting cultural, social, and economic connections."
