Banana Split To Reopen For New Season At End Of February

Owners chose Leap Day as their first day back in business following Banana Split's annual winter hiatus.

AURORA, IL — Banana Split will begin making another year of memories following its winter hiatus.

The beloved Aurora ice cream parlor, located at 820 Church Road, will start serving frozen treats on Feb. 29, also known as Leap Day. The business will be open daily from noon to 9 p.m.

Co-owners Randy and Lisa Brown's old-fashioned parlor features a variety of treats, from shakes, malts and sundaes to smoothies, slushies, frozen yogurt and, of course, banana splits.

Banana Split, celebrating 41 years in 2024, also sells pints of handcrafted, micro-batch premium ice cream, which pair great with the shop's made-on-site waffle cones and bowls, brownies and cookies.
