AURORA, IL — Ahead of National Ice Cream Day Sunday, Patch asked readers for recommendations of the best ice cream places in Aurora.
The beloved frozen treat has been the focus of every third Sunday in July in the United States, thanks to President Ronald Reagan who decreed the day in 1984.
Readers seem to be at a crossroads as Deri Delight and Banana Split are tied for best ice cream parlor in town. One ice cream lover even drives up from Plainfield specifically for Deri Delight. Here's what readers had to say about both spots:
