HelloFresh Faces Probe Over Migrant Child Labor Allegations: Report

AURORA, IL — The U.S. Department of Labor opened an investigation into allegations that migrant children are working at an Aurora meal kit delivery company owned by HelloFresh, according to reports from the New York Times and ABC7 News.

The investigation pertains to Factor75, a HelloFresh subsidiary located at 2372 W. Indian Trail in Aurora, and Midway Staffing, an agency that temporarily helped hire HelloFresh employees.

At least six teens, some of whom migrated from Guatemala, were found working night shifts at Factor75, acquired by the Germany-based HelloFresh in 2020, according to ABC7 News.

"We were deeply troubled to learn of the allegations made against a former temporary staffing agency," a spokesperson for HelloFresh told ABC News. "As soon as we learned of these allegations, we immediately terminated the relationship."

HelloFresh, founded in Berlin in 2011, delivers recipes and pre-measured ingredients to customers in 18 countries across North America, Europe and Australia.
