Officials said a group of police officers were called to a residence Tuesday night where the man refused to stop pointing a gun at them.
NORTH AURORA, IL — A man was fatally shot by a North Aurora police officer outside a home Tuesday night after authorities said he pointed a gun at three officers.
Police were called to a residence in the 400 block of Pine Creek Drive at around 9:30 p.m. for a man who was "behaving erratically," according to a statement. After they entered the home, authorities said a man approached the group of three officers with a handgun, which he then pointed directly at them.
Officials said the officers left the home, but the man followed them outside. After "many" attempts to get the man to drop the gun, one officer fired his weapon and struck him.
