Pooch Parade Planned At New Location In Aurora

More than 125 dogs are set to parade in the seventh annual event.

AURORA, IL — The Aurora Pooch Parade will show off dogs of all shapes and sizes for the seventh annual event on Sunday, this time at a new location.

Pups will parade at Wilder Park, located at 350 N. River St., starting at 11 a.m. The location is more central than Phillips Park, where the parade was previously held, officials said.

More than 125 furry friends will prance in the parade and compete for these titles: biggest dog, smallest dog, best costume, twinsies (owner and dog), most energetic and fan favorite.

Applications closed Oct. 1.

"We welcome all dogs who were unable to register for participation to come out to Wilder Park, mingle with the other dogs, experience the parade, and check out the many pet vendors!" organizers said.

Aurora Animal Care and Control will be on-site to provide free microchipping and take donations for dog and cat food, toys and treats.
