Richard Irvin, John Laesch Lead Aurora Primary Election For Mayor

AURORA, IL — Mayoral incumbent Richard Irvin and current Alderman-at-Large John Laesch will go head-to-head in April's election after unofficial results show they led Tuesday's nonpartisan primary election.

Voters took to the polls to pick one of six candidates — Irvin, Laesch, Ald. Ted Mesiacos, Karina Garcia, Judd Lofchie and Jazmine Garcia, who recently suspended her campaign and endorsed Laesch, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune. The top two candidates advance to the consolidated election on April 1.

Polls were open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Here is a look at unofficial vote tallies by county:

DuPage County

• Laesch: 1,232 votes (37.6 percent)
• Irvin: 1,455 votes (44.4 percent)
• Mesiacos: 238 votes (7.26 percent)
• Karina Garcia: 78 votes (2.38 percent)
• Jazmine Garcia: 25 votes (0.76 percent)
• Lofchie: 249 votes (7.6 percent)

Kane County

• Laesch: 1,929 votes (31.1 percent)
• Irvin: 2,350 votes (37.89 percent)
• Mesiacos: 885 votes (14.27 percent)
• Karina Garcia: 285 votes (4.6 percent)
• Jazmine Garcia: 30 votes (0.48 percent)
• Lofchie: 723 votes (11.66 percent)

Kendall County

• Laesch: 65 votes (28.51 percent)
• Irvin: 80 votes (35.09 percent)
• Mesiacos: 51 votes (22.37 percent)
• Karina Garcia: 3 votes (1.32 percent)
• Jazmine Garcia: 1 votes (0.44 percent)
• Lofchie: 28 votes (12.28 percent)

Will County

• Laesch: 186 votes (38.83 percent)
• Irvin: 204 votes (42.59 percent)
• Mesiacos: 46 votes (9.6 percent)
• Karina Garcia: 16 votes (3.34 percent)
• Jazmine Garcia: 4 votes (0.84 percent)
• Lofchie: 23 votes (4.8 percent)
