Three Arrested, Charged With Armed Robbery In Aurora

Police said the robbery was the result of a drug deal gone bad.

AURORA, IL — Three men this week were arrested and charged with armed robbery in connection to what police say was a drug deal gone bad in a parking lot of the Fox Valley Mall on Sunday.

Aurora police said officers were called to the parking lot at 3:15 p.m. on Monday by victims who said they had their phones, marijuana and vehicle stolen at gunpoint by three people. The car was later found.

Police investigated and identified three suspects, two of whom were arrested Monday night after being seen at a gas station on Eola Road in Aurora. The suspects were 19-year-old Davarious C. Sykes of Aurora and 21-year-old Deshaun Williams of DeKalb.

A third suspect, an unidentified 16-year-old, was arrested Tuesday. All three suspects were charged with armed robbery.

Sykes and Williams were taken to the DuPage County Jail, and the youth was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
