The Venue Receives $6K Grant For New Lights, Acoustic Improvements

A nonprofit awarded 31 recipients from across the country with the mission to help live music remain accessible to all.

AURORA, IL — The Venue ended the year on a high note: The South Broadway music hall received a $6,000 grant.

The business is one of 31 recipients nationwide to receive the Toolbox grant from Live Music Society, a nonprofit that aims to recognize and protect small venues across the country to help live music remain accessible to everyone.

The Venue will use the $6,000 to add bass traps and acoustic panels, replace some moving lights and buy additional backline equipment. Officials said the grant provides critical support for practical projects that would not otherwise be undertaken.
