Batavia 5K To Support Mental Health Organizations In Illinois
Those who are interested in racing Saturday can run the usual 5K course in Batavia or follow any path they'd like.
BATAVIA, IL — While many highly popular fall races have been called off this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers are pushing forward with a 5K on Saturday in Batavia to support mental health programs in the region.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness its hosting the race from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Batavia to support the work of NAMI Kane-South, DeKalb and Kendall counties.
Those who are interested in racing can run the usual NAMI 5K course, which starts just east of the Peg Bond Center. The course will not have chip-timing, aid stations or restrooms due to coronavirus-related restrictions, according to NAMI KDK Executive Director Laura Martinez.

No Coronavirus Deaths In Kane County For 2 Weeks
Racers can also run any path they choose, as long as they submit their official times by the end of the day Saturday. Runners can submit their times through several running apps.

All runners must register by Friday to participate in the race.
Runners are asked to keep their distance from others and to wear a mask when they cannot.
