Woman Found Dead After Man Tells Dispatchers He Killed Wife: Batavia Police
The woman was killed in what Batavia police said was a "domestic-related incident."
BATAVIA, IL — A Batavia man is facing murder charges after Batavia police said he killed his wife early Tuesday morning.
The woman was killed in what police described as a "domestic-related incident" at around 4:30 a.m. at an apartment building in the 100 block of Church Street, according to a news release.
Batavia police were dispatched to the residence after the man, later identified as Hector Luvianos-Barrera, reported to dispatchers that he had "just killed his wife," police said. Upon arrival, officers found the man outside the apartment and took him into custody without incident.

When police entered the apartment, they found the woman suffering from "significant, life-threatening injuries." First responders attempted to help her before she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Luvianos-Barrera, 37, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is in custody at the Kane County jail awaiting a detention hearing.

The Kane County Major Crimes Task Force assisted with an investigation. The Kane County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the victim's exact cause and manner of death. Police said the coroner's office will identify the victim once her next of kin is notified.
"The Batavia Police Department grieves alongside the victim’s family and our community, and we offer our sincere condolences to those affected by this horrific act of violence," officials wrote in a news release.
