Batavia Chiropractor Filmed At Least 180 Patients While They Undressed: Investigators
Many of the victims, both children and adults, were filmed in a room used for red light or near-infrared light therapy, officials said.

BATAVIA, IL — The owner of Hanson Family Chiropractic in Batavia secretly videotaped more than 180 of his patients as they were naked or getting undressed, investigators said Thursday.
The Batavia Police Department and Kane County State's Attorney's Office announced multiple felony charges against David Hanson, whose chiropractic office is located at 1928 W. Wilson St. in Batavia. Google lists the business as permanently closed.
The victims were mostly female and ranged in age from children to adults. Investigators said many of the recordings appeared to be taken from a room used for red light and near-infrared light therapy. Hanson, 43, filmed them using hidden cameras placed throughout his office.

Hanson, whose residence is in the 1100 block of Challenge Drive in Batavia, was taken into custody Wednesday night after investigators searched his home and office through a judicial warrant. The Batavia man was charged with the following:
- Six counts of producing child pornography
- Three counts of disseminating child pornography
- Six counts of possessing child pornography
- Three counts of unauthorized recording of a minor through/under clothes

Both the Batavia Police Department and Kane County State's Attorney's Office collaborated on the investigation, which has been handed off entirely to state prosecutors. Officials said the Lake County Sheriff's Office played a large role in the case, as its electronic storage detection canine helped locate hidden cameras inside the business.
Investigators are encouraging anyone who believes they are a victim of Hanson or has any information about the case to call 630-444-3322 or email saovictimhotline@kanecountyil.gov.
"When you call the phone number, an answering machine will pick up," the state's attorney's office wrote on Facebook. "Individuals should leave a message. That is the correct phone number and the line is being monitored."
