Batavia D101 Goes Remote For 2nd Day Due To Icy Temperatures
District 101 students had remote school on Friday and a day off on Monday thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

BATAVIA, IL — Batavia students are learning remotely again on Tuesday as a result of "hazardous weather conditions," officials said.
All students in Batavia Public School District 101 were instructed by their teachers regarding lessons for the day and available assistance. The e-learning day does not need to be made up at the end of the school year.

Students also had a remote school day on Friday due to a snowstorm and a day off on Monday thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Wind chills will be as low as 25 to 35 below zero on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. A wind chill advisory will go into effect from noon Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday as another "Arctic blast" will arrive at the end of the week, and wind chills will drop below zero again, Patch reported.

All after-school activities were canceled Tuesday, as was transportation for students in alternate placement programs outside of District 101. Officials said coaching staff and sponsors communicated with students about rehearsals, practices and contests.

District officials said they will continue to monitor weather conditions for the remainder of the week.
The high for Wednesday is 26 degrees, and there is a chance of snow on Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning, the weather service said.
