Shattered glass


Someone shattered two glass doors of a building, causing $1,000 in damage, at about 11 a.m. Aug. 4 at 725 W. Fabyan Parkway, police said.

Church theft

A laptop computer, valued at $400, and an undetermined amout of cash were stolen at about 1 p.m. Aug. 1 at Calvary Episcopal Church/Batavia Islamic Center, 222 S. Batavia Ave., police said.

July 31

Man nets DUI charge


Juan Estrada-Mendez, 28, 1056 Lorlyn Circle, Batavia, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher at about 9 a.m. July 31 in the area of South Batavia Avenue and Fabyan Parkway, police said. He was also charged with operating an uninsured vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Fire destroys playground slide


Police said arson destroyed a green plastic tube slide at about 2:30 a.m. July 30 at Alice Gustafson School, 905 Carlisle Road.

Man nets trespassing charge

Don A. Olson, 62, 348 N. Jefferson St., Batavia, wss charged with criminal trespass to property after he was observed on Batavia Enterprises Inc., in violation of a ban order, at about 9:30 p.m. July 30 in the 100 block of West Wilson Street. Police said Olson was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
