  • School officials proposed a change to Batavia High School’s graduation requirements. Currently a minimum of 28 credits are needed for graduation. The proposal would change the minimum to 26. School officials said reducing the minimum number of credits needed to graduate will give Batavia High School students the flexibility to add some non-credit options into the schedule, which could include a no-credit resource study hall. The state mandates a minimum of 16.75 credits for graduation. The proposal, still in discussions by the Batavia School Board, would take effect this fall if approved. School officials earlier this month still sought feedback about the proposal. The Batavia School Board will discuss the requirements on Tuesday at its regular meeting. It will begin at 7 p.m. in the Rosalie M. Jones Administration Center, 335 W. Wilson St.
