Batavia School Put On ‘Hold’ After ‘Incident In A Classroom’: D101

District 101 officials said students are safe after a "classroom incident" at Rotolo Middle School.

BATAVIA, IL — Rotolo Middle School was placed on a form of lockdown Tuesday after an “incident in a classroom,” Batavia School District 101 officials said.

In an alert published at about 1:30 p.m. on Facebook, officials said the middle school was placed on a “hold,” meaning instruction continued like normal but movement in hallways was halted.

Students are safe, according to the alert, but officials said they cannot provide additional details about the incident at this time.

Out of an abundance of caution, administrators called police to the school to provide “additional support.”

District officials said they will share an update “as soon as possible.”
