Batavia's Annual Fox River Clean Up: May 20

The City of Batavia and Friends of the Fox River partner to host the annual river cleanup at the Skate Park and Clark Island.

BATAVIA, IL - The City of Batavia is partnering with Friends of the Fox River to host its annual Fox River Clean up May 20 from 9 a.m - noon at 411 S. River St., in Batavia.

Volunteers are recommended to wear a hat, waterproof footwear and sunscreen. They're also advised to bring a bottle for water, a pair of work gloves and some garbage bags. But the city said some extras will be on site. Snacks and water will also be provided. All participants must sign a waiver and volunteers under 18 will require a parental signature, according to the city.

The mission of the Friends of the Fox River is to preserve, restore and protect the Fox River Watershed’s resources by connecting people with nature through education, research, restoration and advocacy.
