BSNF Railroad Work To Close 2 Batavia Crossings
Burlington Northern Santa Fe will perform essential repairs on the rail tracks, railroad ties and crossing surfaces.
BATAVIA, IL — Two railroad crossings in Batavia will close to traffic Sept. 14-16 to make way for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway to perform essential repairs, officials said.
Crews will work on making repairs to the rail tracks, railroad ties and crossing surfaces at the Wilson Street and Prairie Street crossings.
Drivers and residents will still have access to their homes and businesses using alternate routes as crossing Wilson Street and Prairie Street won't be possible for three days.

City officials request drivers plan their travels accordingly following the detour routes:
- Eastbound from downtown Batavia: Turn left on Route 25, right on Fabyan Parkway, right on Raddant Road and left on Wilson Street.
- Westbound on Wilson Street toward downtown Batavia: Turn left on Raddant Road, right on Pine Street, right on Prairie Street, left on Webster Street, then right on Route 25 and left on Wilson Street.
