Male In Car Approaches Girl Outside Hoover Wood School: Police
Batavia Police Dept. encourage parents to talk to their children about "stranger danger" and what to do if approached by a stranger.

BATAVIA, IL — The Batavia Police Department said a young female student who was walking in front of Hoover Wood School at 3:40 p.m. Friday was approached by a Hispanic male in a red or black two-door car. According to police, the male was the only person in the car which also had rear-end damage, and reportedly opened the passenger side door of the car and said, “Hey kid, do you need a ride? You look tall enough to sit in the front seat.”
Police said the student quickly pulled out her cell phone and told him she was on the phone with her mother, and he then closed the car door, did a U-turn and drove southbound on Wagner Road.
Police said anyone with any additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Batavia Police Department. In addition, the Batavia Police Department said they would like to encourage parents to speak with their children about “stranger danger” and what to do if approached by a stranger.
