New Principal Selected To Helm Louise White Elementary School

BATAVIA, IL — A new principal has been selected to helm Louise White Elementary School, Batavia Public School District 101 officials announced Wednesday.

Mike Wall's appointment comes as current Principal Kevin Skomer plans to retire this summer after 26 years with District 101, 13 of those as the elementary school's principal. Skomer also served as principal of both the old and new Grace McWayne Elementary School.

Wall's succession will be effective July 1.

"I'm eager to start my new role on July 1 and collaborate with Dr. Skomer and all members of the LWS community to learn about the incredible things happening at Louise White," Wall said in a statement. "My goal is to build upon our shared commitment to student success."

As an educator with 14 years of experience, Wall has served in various roles, including teacher and instructional coach and assistant principal. He has served as principal of an elementary school in Mount Prospect for the last five years.

"Mike is a great fit for Louise White School for various reasons," Superintendent Tom Kim said in a statement. "He is invested in the community, has a great reputation for being a genuine and authentic relationship builder, and is passionate about students and supporting their learning."

Kim continued: "As I've said before, what is most important is that he will run through walls for students and be a great teammate. He is familiar with the traditions and successful practices at Louise White School and can't wait to get started in his new role."
