Woman Found Dead After Man Tells Dispatchers He Killed Wife: Batavia Police (patch.com) — Batavia residents are reeling after police say a local man called 911 and reported he had killed his wife at an apartment on Church Street early Tuesday morning. Officers found the woman with severe injuries and arrested the husband at the scene; he now faces first-degree murder charges while Kane County authorities continue the investigation and ask anyone with information to contact Batavia police.
   

2. Health workers urge public to carry naloxone during holidays: ‘One dose can save a life' (shawlocal.com) — Batavia residents can now pick up free naloxone at several local spots, including the Speedway on West Wilson, R & S Cardinal Liquors, and the Batavia Public Library. Kane County Health Department staff are urging everyone to carry the easy-to-use nasal spray during the holidays to quickly reverse opioid overdoses and keep loved ones safe until help arrives.

Driver, 2 workers hurt after jeep crashes into Rosati's Pizza restaurant in Batavia, Illinois (cbsnews.com) — A Jeep crashed into Rosati’s Pizza on East Wilson Street in Batavia, sending the driver and two employees to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and forcing part of the building to be boarded up. Police say the 77-year-old driver reported mechanical trouble and may have had a medical issue, and they’re asking anyone who saw the crash to contact Batavia police.
   

4. Three-bedroom home in Batavia goes for $390,000 (shawlocal.com) — A three-bedroom, single-story home at 231 Evergreen Drive in Batavia recently sold for $390,000, or $361 per square foot.
