ST. CHARLES – Fox Valley based Tek Pak Inc., a global manufacturing and packaging solutions company, has once again joined forces with Cal’s Angels, a local nonprofit in St. Charles working to raise over $1 million through its fifth annual War on Wheels (WOW) bike ride to benefit pediatric cancer patients in Illinois. Tek Pak is sponsoring its Vice President of Innovation and Sustainability, Scott Carter, who will be riding with others on the WOW cycle team from Washington D.C. to St. Charles, Illinois as part of the fundraising effort.

This is the third time Scott Carter has participated in the WOW bike ride. A bicycling enthusiast who lost his father at an early age to cancer, Scott has a lifelong passion for supporting research to find a cure for all cancers. With Tek Pak’s support, he is participating in the annual ride to create greater awareness for the work being done to end pediatric cancer. He initially learned about the WOW team and Cal’s Angels through local St. Charles business, Sammy’s Bikes, a long-time partner and supporter of Cal’s Angels frequently coordinating special charity rides to support the organization. Scott and the WOW team will complete the challenging one-week, 967-mile-long ride between October 23 and November 3. Last year, Scott joined the WOW team covering 785 miles from Mackinaw City, Michigan to St. Charles, raising $11,370 for the cause.

“Our annual sponsorship of Scott’s ride is our way of supporting one of the leading nonprofits in the Fox Valley and part of our ongoing effort to give back to the community,” said Wendy K. White Eagle, Company Integrator, Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) President at Tek Pak. “We are proud to support Cal’s Angels in their mission to help young cancer patients by funding research to find a cure for pediatric cancer. We hope our support and contribution will help them achieve this noble objective.”
