Trick-Or-Treating In Batavia: 2024 Hours Unveiled
To get a taste of Halloween before the official holiday, Batavia MainStreet will host its annual BatFest the weekend prior.

BATAVIA, IL — October is in full swing, and that means Halloween is right around the corner. The holiday falls on a Thursday this year, and the City of Batavia set its trick-or-treating hours for 3-7 p.m. Oct. 31.
To get a taste of Halloween before the official holiday, Batavia MainStreet will host its annual BatFest Oct. 26 in downtown Batavia. Activities, happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., include a parade, downtown trick-or-treating and a costume contest, among others.

Police and village officials provided a list of tips and guidelines to help families as they begin planning for festivities:
- Walk in small groups, not alone.
- Bicycles and skateboards should be left at home.
- Younger children should be accompanied by adults.
- Costumes should not restrict vision.
- Use stick-on reflective material generously.
- Carry a flashlight if out after dark.
- Only give or accept wrapped or packaged candy.
- Parents should examine candy carefully before children are allowed to eat it.
- Cross at crosswalks only.
