What Roads Will Close, Where To Park For 4th Of July Events In Batavia
Batavia is celebrating Independence Day with its annual Sky Show and Savor the Flavor food vendors.
BATAVIA, IL — To celebrate the Fourth of July, Batavia is hosting its annual Sky Concert and Savor the Flavor food vendors on Friday.
Food vendors will open at 5 p.m. July 4 at Engstrom Park, and the fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. and end by 10 p.m.
At the end of the celebration, drivers leaving the area or traveling through Batavia's West Side should expect "significant traffic delays," police said.

To make way for the show, Main Street will close to all traffic between Feece Drive and Pitz Lane once public parking at Batavia High School and the handicap lot at Batavia Covenant Church are full. At that time, traffic will be detoured to Wilson Street.

These roads will be impacted:
- Randall Road from Main Street to Fabyan Parkway
- West Wilson Street and Main Street around Batavia High School
- Route 31 through the downtown area
- McKee Street between Van Nortwick Avenue and Western Avenue will be shuttered due to construction.
All routes will have multiple barricades up and detours posted.
Batavia officials reminded locals that alcoholic beverages and dogs are prohibited at all observation areas. Fireworks and sparklers are also not allowed within city limits.
