Drop Off Non-Perishable Food Donations Sunday At 19th Ward Mutual Aid Food Drive
19th Ward Mutual Aid will host a food drive for local neighbors, Sunday, Nov. 9. Drop off donations at Church of the Holy Nativity.
CHICAGO — With the recent SNAP cuts, 19th Ward Mutual Aid will be collecting non-perishable food items, Sunday, Nov. 9. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon at Church of the Holy Nativity, 9300 S. Pleasant Ave., Chicago.
All donated food items will be distributed to local families in need. The most needed items include:
- Canned vegetables, beans and soup
- Rice, pasta and cereal
- Shelf-stable milk and baby formula
- Peanut butter and canned protein
- Cooking oil and spices
- Feminine hygiene products
People can also sponsor a meal box for a family in need. Donations are also being taken online at 19th Ward Mutual Aid; every $25 feeds a family of four. Email info@19aid.com and let them know if you’ll be donating non-perishable items, or drop them a line on the 19th Ward Mutual Aid Facebook page.
