Beverly Hills Cycling Classic Rolls Through Town This Thursday
All the details you need to enjoy a unique neighborhood event.
This Thursday a unique site will be rolling through the neighborhood as the Beverly Hills Cycling Classic takes place this July 18.
The event features professional riders competing in a fast-paced race through the scenic neighborhood. The new Prairie State Cycling Series means this year's race will feature an even higher caliber of cyclists.
“This is the first year for the Prairie State Cycling Series, and we’re really pleased that the Beverly Hills Cycling Classic is an important race on their calendar,” said BAPA Executive Director Matt Walsh, in a news release.
BAPA is organizing the event which features plenty of exciting features for spectators.
The start and finish line is at 107th and Longwood Drive. The festival area located on the grounds of the Beacon Therapeutic School will open to the public at 4:00 p.m. The women's race starts at 4:40 p.m. and the men's event starts at 6:30 p.m.
The festival grounds will have live music and craft beers from event sponsor Argus Brewery, a Pullman-based brewery. On tap Pegasus IPA, Ironhorse Chicago Common Style, Holsteiner Lager and Jarrett Payton All American Wheat Ale.
On hand for even more tasty treats will be Calabria Imports and Original Rainbow Cone.
A special event for kids under the age of six, The Longwood 500 Big Wheel Race, will also take place Thursday evening.
The race can also be viewed along the circuit route which runs through the Beverly Ridge Historic District on Longwood Drive, Seeley and Hoyne, 105th Place and 108th Place. A copy of the route is included in the photos of this article.
