Celebrate Freedom At Beverly/Morgan Park Juneteenth Family Fest

CHICAGO — Celebrate freedom at the Beverly/Morgan Park Juneteenth Family Festival this Saturday, June 15. The festival runs from noon to 7 p.m. at 110th Place and Longwood Drive, celebrating African and African American cultural heritage, unites the neighborhood’s diverse community and connects residents with resources and services. The fest is FREE for all.

Now in its fifth year, thousands are expected to flock to the Beverly/Morgan Park community to attend the annual Juneteenth Family Festival, featuring children’s activities, free health and community resources, food vendors, merchandise, live music and much, much more, including:

New to the festival this year will be a partnership with My Block My Hood My City, an organization founded and directed by Jahmal Cole. My Block My Hood My City will be sponsoring the youth and family area and will bring their vast expertise working with youth to the forefront. Included in this endeavor will be a 3-on =-3 basketball tournament, as the festival founds collaborate, to draw attention to #savestreetball, a campaign by My Block My Hood My City to ensure that Chicago neighborhoods have updated, outdoor basketball courts for youth and families.
