CHICAGO — Independence Day is fast approaching so it's time to find out where you can celebrate in and around Evergreen Park. Area events include fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun.

July 3

What: Palos Heights July 3 FestivalWhen: Inflatables and games for kids 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Memorial/Community Park, West College Drive. Gates reopen 5 p.m. for DJ, with fireworks blasting off at 9:15 p.m.

What: Bridgeview 2024 Independence Day CelebrationWhen: Stars and Stripes Forever, DJ, music and food trucks starting at 4; fireworks blast off 9 p.m.Where: Commissioners Park, 8100 S. Beloit Ave.

What: Chicago Fire takes on the Philadelphia Union with fireworks to follow the game at dusk. Buy tickets.

What: 4th on 53rd Parade and Festival
Where: 54th Avenue, south to South Lake Park Avenue, easeat on 55th Street to Hyde Park Avenue north 53rd Street west ending at Nichols Parkm 1355 E. 53rd Street.
When: Thursday, July 4, parade 11 a.m., with a free fest to follow from noon to 3 p.m., featuring performances, games, bouncy houses, face painting, petting zoo, magician and more.

July 5
