CHICAGO — When you see a guy reach for stars in the sky, you can bet that he’s doing it for some doll. Beverly Theatre Guild – Chicago’s longest running community theater troupe – is kicking off its 61st season with the Tony Award-winning musical “Guys and Dolls.”

BTG hits the boards Oct. 20, Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 in the Baer Theatre at Morgan Park Academy, 2153 W. 111th St., Chicago.

Damon Runyon’s “Guys and Dolls” tells the story of the unlikeliest Manhattan pairings, including a high roller and puritanical evangelist, and the manager of a notorious, illegal floating craps game and his showgirl fiance of 14 years. The show won the 1950 Tony Award for Best New Musical, and was made into a film starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.
“Guys and Dolls” includes such showstoppers as “Luck Be A Lady,” “If I Were A Bell,” “The Oldest Established (Permanent Floating Craps Game)” and “Adelaide’s Lament.”
