19th Ward residents can drop off live trees to be recycled from Jan. 11-Jan. 25 at Kennedy and Mt. Greenwood Parks.

CHICAGO — If you’ve been trying to figure out how to recycle your live Christmas tree, the City of Chicago’s Holiday Tree Recycling program starts Saturday, Jan. 11 and continues through Saturday, Jan. 25 at 27 parks across the city.
19th Ward residents can drop off their Christmas Tree to be recycled at either Kennedy Park, 2427 W. 113th St. or Mount Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St.
Live and natural holiday trees can be dropped off inside the tree recycling corrals at the Kennedy and Mount Greenwood parks. All ornaments, lights, tinsel, and tree stands must be removed before the tree is dropped off, and plastic bags used for transport should also be removed before placing the trees in the corrals.
