Mt. Greenwood Man Accused Of Sending Nude Photos To Teens

Chicago police said the man tried to solicit two underage teens he met on social media.

CHICAGO — A Mt. Greenwood man is accused of sending nude photos to teens he met on social media. Chicago police are asking for the public’s help to see if there are more victims.

Mark Ickes, 61, has been charged with two counts of manufacturing harmful materials and one count of solicitation of a child, all felonies.

Ickes has been the subject of an investigation since April, when he struck up conversations with two underage teens. Police said that on April 20, Ickes struck up conversations with two underage teens. Ickes allegedly sent them both nude photos of himself. He also requested photos from one of the teens.

He was arrested Tuesday by Chicago police and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in the 2400 block of West 103rd Street. Ickes is to remain in custody until his next court hearing June 2, Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) told residents in an email.

“Moving forward, my staff will participate in court hearings and keep residents apprised of any pertinent developments,” O’Shea said.
