Police Roadside Safety Check Set for Morgan Park District
Find out when and where police will be setting up the stop.

The Chicago Police Department announced that they will be conducting a roadside safety check Friday night into Saturday morning in the 22nd District.
The safety check will take place at 106th Street and Halsted and will last from 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 to 4 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Police say the purpose of these safety checks is to slow down and stop cars while watching for signs of drunken driving, traffic violations and driver's license violations.
“This program is conducted year round to ensure drivers are operating their vehicles safely,” said Superintendent, Garry F. McCarthy in a statement. “This is part of an ongoing strategy to keep the city streets safe for Chicago’s residents and commuters.”
A similar check in the 11th District on the West Side last month netted three DUIs and 15 total citations.
