CHICAGO — The best neighborhood celebration in Chicago – the South Side Irish Parade – returns this Sunday, March 13, after two years’ of COVID-19 cancellations. Bar and restaurant owners up and down Western Avenue, as well as other nearby nabes, are prepping for what is always the busiest day of the year. Here’s a look at where to go for a cold one along the parade route, or for post-parade celebrations nearby.
End Zone, 10036 S. Western Ave.
- Will open at 11 a.m.
Sean's Rhino Bar & Grill, 10330 S. Western Ave.
- Will open at 10 a.m. before the parade, then close a few hours and reopen at 5 p.m.
- The bar will fill up pretty fast pre-parade, so you might want to get there early. Tell your friends.

Cork and Kerry, 10414 S. Western Ave.
- Post-parade party starting at 3 p.m., featuring Mark Taylor and Friends Parade Day Party.

Horse Thief Hollow, 10426 S. Western Ave.
- Opens 11:15 Sunday
- Toast the return of the South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade with a pint of Pat Mac’s Pack Irish Red Ale.
- Seasonal Route 66 Green River or Orange ice cream floats for kids of all ages.
- Kitchen will be closed on Sunday, but they’ll have plenty of fresh craft beer on tap and a limited supply of corned beef sandwiches.
Ken's On Western, 10522 S. Western Ave.
- Will open at 11 a.m., featuring Irish specials for breakfast and lunch.
Barney Callaghan’s Pub, 10618 S. Western Ave.
- Opens 11 a.m.
- $10 cover
Dinger’s Bar, 10638 S. Western Ave.
- Opens 11 a.m.
- $5 canned beer, $10 car bombs and other drink specials.
- Nothing is super finalized

- Opens 11 a.m.
