A quick-thinking cabbie in Oak Lawn fooled a man who tried to rob him and escaped. The passenger, described as a white male with a goatee and “ugly-looking teeth,” told the cab driver: “Either you’re going to give me everything in this cab and everything you made today, or you’re not going to see your family again.”
Suburban Piano Prodigy to Train with Famous Classical Pianist
At the age of 12, Joshua Mhoon of Arlington Heights is a piano prodigy. He opened for The Jacksons and Nick Cannon at the Lincoln Center in New York and has performed for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Vice Premier of China, Jan Chu. Recently, he was selected as one of 10 pianists among 300 entrants from 49 countries to train with his idol, Lang Lang, next month at the Allianz Junior Music Camp in Austria.
