CHICAGO — St. Rita High School at 77th and Western has selected its next principal. It's Sante Iacovelli, who has more than 25 years of experience in education.

Iacovelli was picked as a "result of a comprehensive search process that included parents, teachers, support staff, board members, administrators, students and Augustinians," St. Rita President James Quaid said in a letter posted on the school's website.

“In my life, I have never been as energized or excited to work with such a dynamic community as has been demonstrated to me, by the Augustinians, faculty, staff, students and parents that represent the St. Rita community," Iacovelli said. "I feel truly blessed to be chosen to join this vibrant and dedicated group of extremely talented people who make up the family that is St. Rita of Cascia High School.”
