Blue Island Destination Rock Island Public House Booked to Boogie Man All Weekend
The Rock Island Public House’s “Stout at the Devil Weekend” in Blue Island scares up something for everyone Friday through late Sunday night at 13328 Old Western Ave, Blue Island, IL 60406.
From costume contests to frightening variations on Karaoke Night to the premiere of a garage rock band playing on the “Last Patio on the Left” Rock Island Public House embraces all that is ghoulish fun on Halloween, 2023.
“Halloween weekend allows folks to step out of their own skin and kick it up a bit,” said Rock Island Public House co-owner Dave Brown. “Our Rock Island Public House building has been haunted for more than a century, so there’s that, too.”

COSTUME CONTEST - FRIDAY OCTOBER 27TH from 8 p.m. till 2 a.m.
There will be prizes for the three best costumes Friday night to kick off a weekend of scary monsters and super creeps (and that's just the politician category).

Winners will be judged on creativity, relevance and design.
“Sarah Palin is just soooooo yesteryear,” said Rock Island Public House co-owner Jennifer Brown. “Good to be hip but evil is better.”
The costume party begins at 8 p.m. with the contest beginning at 10 p.m. “sharp.”
SCARY-OKE - SATURDAY OCTOBER 28TH from 8 p.m. till midnight
Like Jason - Berry-oke is back - the popular annual event with multiple lives of a black cat.
Singers are encouraged to wear their costumes, especially those firing up the vocal chords for such classics as: Alice Cooper’s “Dead Babies” from the Killers album; Motley Crew’s “Shouting at the Devil” or “The Animal in Me”; Pink Floyd’s “Careful With That Axe, Eugene” - all ready for selection among other Halloween Karaoke faves.
THE OOOZIN’ AHHH'S - SUNDAY OCTOBER 29TH from 6:30 p.m. till 8:30
Chicago's premier Hallowe'en novelty and garage rock band busts on the Blue Island music scene with a promise: “We ARE MONSTERS!”
A premiere night at Rock Island Public House, “The Ooozin’ Ahhh’s” have got a grip on their fears now that they’re out of the garage with a grunge sound bound to lift the hair on one’s neck, if not take your head off.
“Not to be missed,” said Dave Brown.
Bizarro & Son will offer up the classic Mexican dishes patrons of Rock Island Public House have to come to enjoy Wednesdays through Saturdays: Tacos, Chalupas, Steak Burritos, Nachos, Serrano Poppers, Shrimp Tacos, Tamales and more.
Sunday night, Red’s the People’s Pie will be on site with Red’s Detroit style pan pizza made with a special butter beer dough and affectionately named “The People’s Pie” because of its popularity with the greater South Side.
