5 Arrested In Bolingbrook Car Burglaries: Police
Three adults are facing charges after car burglaries early Thursday. Police also recovered an illegal firearm.
BOLINGBROOK, IL —Five people were arrested after a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle early Thursday, according to a release from the Bolingbrook Police.
Bolingbrook Police responded at 4:10 a.m. Thursday to the 500 block of Lakewood Farms for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that had just happened. Police said as officers arrived, they saw two people fleeing the scene on foot. The two were detained, and taken into custody.
Officers worked with residents to identify five total offenders who had committed burglaries throughout the neighborhood, according to police. Officers canvassed the neighborhood, and recovered burglary proceeds, an illegal firearm and all five offenders.

Three adults and two juveniles were arrested. The juveniles were released to guardians and will be petitioned into juvenile court.
The three adults arrested were: Jose Sanchez, 28, of Joliet; Francisco Medina, 23, of Bolingbrook; and Mateo Guzman, 18, of Joliet.

Sanchez was charged with burglary to motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer, and also had an in-state warrant.
Medina was charged with trespass to motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer; and Guzman was charged with burglary to motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer.
Chief Mike Rompa commended the officers for their prompt response and thorough investigation.
"Their efforts helped to find justice for the victims, took an illegal weapon off the streets, and prevented additional burglaries from occurring," according to a release from police.
