BHS Sophomore Named 2012 Youth Foundation Ambassador

Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is the nation's foremost youth leadership development organization.

sophomore Suraj “Neil” Sheth has been selected as a 2012 Hugh O’Brien Youth Foundation Ambassador, school officials announced Wednesday.

He will represent BHS at this year’s conference June 22-24, 2012 at Loyola University in Chicago.

Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is the nation’s foremost youth leadership development organization. Its mission is to inspire and develop the global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.

The seminar will focus on providing outstanding high school students with an opportunity to learn how to lead and make a difference. HOBY Ambassadors benefit from a vast network of innovative thinkers, both peer and adult.

Neil has served as captain of the junior varsity scholastic bowl team, is an active member of the varsity speech team and was just voted to serve as secretary in the newly formed Asian-American Club.  He is also very involved with activities in the community.

Neil’s trip is sponsored by the Bolingbrook High School Student Government.
