Bolingbrook Approves $40K For 2024-25 Holiday Lights
The purchase includes 4,000 strands of holiday lights.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — The holidays may seem far away, but the Village of Bolingbrook is already planning holiday displays for the 2024-25 winter season.
At its Tuesday meeting, the Bolingbrook Village Board approved a purchase of decorative lights for this holiday season from Menards in Bolingbrook. The cost is not to exceed $40,000.
Deputy Mayor Mike Lawler said the purchase is for 4,000 strands of holiday lights.

According to Board documents, the Board pre-ordered the lights to "guarantee quantities using a volume savings program."
"[The lights] go up on the [trees of the] medians and different parts of Bolingbrook to brighten the festive time of year," Lawler said.

He added that it was nice to see that the purchase was from a local business.
